How do I become a shopping assistant?


Download the iCart App from Google play store or Apple App store. You can use the App download button on the iCart Website. Create an account or Login with Google. On the dropdown menu of your profile there is the ‘Shopping Assistant’ Login option; Click on that option and submit required documentation and your Shopping assistant account becomes active.




What documentations do I need to submit as a shopping assistant?


You would need to submit and ID document that shows you have the right to work in UK, which is mainly your passport and Biometric Card if applicable. You would also need a Utility bill as proof of address.




What is my role as a shopping assistant?


Your role is primarily to shop for anyone who requires the service. The App is designed to connect you with anyone who wants a shopping service within a 2 mile radius of wherever you are. Once you complete the shopping, you would be required to deliver the shopping to their address; all tasks should be completed while adhering to the covid-19 guidance on our website and any other applicable public health guidelines and regulations




Is it easy to navigate the App as a shopping assistant?


Yes, it’s very easy. Once logged in as a shopping assistant, you will receive job order alerts when anyone requires a shopping service locally. Have a quick look at the order and accept if you are available or decline if you are not. Please note that continually declining job orders would affect your rating. After accepting an order, you would shop for the items at any local supermarket(s) and deliver to the Shopper’s address soon as you complete the task.




Do I need to have any experience before I become a shopping assistant?


No. However it would be helpful if you have a passion for shopping. It is a task and would require full commitment from you. Professionalism and good work ethics are vital as you would be rated by the shoppers




Do I need to be a driver or own a vehicle or other forms of transport to be a shopping assistant?


No. Although having your own form of transportation could aid with convenient deliveries, however this is not essential. We only assign you job orders that are within a reasonable travelling distance (2 mile radius) of local stores and the shopper.




Who is my employer as a shopping assistant working for iCart?


Neither iCart Ltd (Owners of iCart Shopping and Delivery App) nor the shoppers who use the App are your direct employers. When you sign up to use the App, you agree to our terms and conditions that states that you are self employed and will handle your tax and other government related returns yourself. The App only provides a platform for you to be able to connect with anyone who requires a shopping service locally.




How do I make payment for my shopping task as a shopping assistant?


As it is a task, you only get paid after the shopping is completed and delivered. You would shop with your own funds and upload a receipt once the shopping task is completed. Upon delivery, your money i.e The amount spent on the shopping and the fees paid for completing the task will reflect in your digital wallet on the App. You can request for these funds whenever required using the ‘Withdraw money’ option in the shopping assistant drop down menu and it will be paid into your bank account automatically.




How do I know how much money I have made cumulatively as a shopping assistant?


Use the profile option at the bottom of your screen. The display info contains your ID number, Full name, email and Total Earnings. Your Total Earnings is the cumulative amount you have made as a shopping assistant and you can withdraw it for payment into your bank account as at when needed.




How do I withdraw money from the App as a shopping assistant?


Use the ‘Withdraw Money’ option on the shopping assistant dropdown menu. You will be required to supply your bank details and the funds requested or withdrawn will be transferred thereafter.




How do I communicate with the shopper as a shopping assistant?


In adhering to our Privacy policy, we do not share your phone details with anyone or theirs with you, however there is an inbuilt messaging system with the App at the bottom of the screen where you can communicate with the shopper and vice versa if required.




What do I do if I cannot find an item the shopper wants in the store?


Send the shopper a message from the App and ask if they would prefer a replacement. If yes, then purchase the replacement item as specified. If No, then complete or cancel the shopping at their request




Where can I find my ratings and reviews as a shopping assistant?


Use the ‘Ratings and Reviews’ option in the shopping assistant dropdown menu




How do I get job notifications as a shopping assistant?


The App notifies you once there is an available job order that is within close proximity to you; as long as you are logged in as a shopping assistant.




Can I have both shopper and shopping assistant accounts?


Yes you can. You would primarily need to create an account as a shopper before you can use the shopping assistant functionality. Both accounts are integrated to provide a better shopping experience and ease of use. Once you create a shopper’s account, you can subsequently login as a shopping assistant without any hassle. The concept is ‘Shopping for everyone by anyone’.




What is the difference between a shopper and a shopping assistant?


A shopper is anyone who requires shopping as a service. They are not able do their shopping due to individual circumstances, time constraints or any other reason and would rather assign it to someone else for a fee. The Shopping assistant is anyone who accepts a shopping job order from the shopper and undertakes as a task for a fee




What do I do after I complete a shopping task?


An order ID with the name, address and shopping order is generated in a shopper’s broadcast. Once you accept the job order, purchase the items and after paying, upload a receipt. The App recognises the receipt and will then allow you click the ‘Confirm pickup’ option. After confirming pickup, the Shopper is notified about your movement via Maps and can track their delivery. On arrival, request for the shopper’s unique PIN number and enter it on the App to confirm delivery. PIN numbers are a security feature and you should only deliver if the PIN is correct.




What do I do if a shopper supplies an incorrect PIN?


Don’t panic. It is highly unlikely you would encounter this type of issue however If you cannot confirm a PIN number then chances are, the shopping does not belong to them. Just ring the customer support line or use the contact options on the website and it will be sorted.

How do I create an account as a shopper?

How does the App work?


The app is quite easy to navigate. Create an account or login with Google or Apple account and once in the store, you can browse through our extensive product list. Select your desired items and add to your shopping cart. On completion, proceed to checkout and pay and your job order will be broadcasted to available shopping assistants within your local area. You will receive a notification once the job order has been accepted and you can track your shopping assistant till delivery.




Can I have a shopper and shopping assistant account?


Oh yes you can. The concept is ‘Shopping for everyone by anyone’. Ideally you might only want to use the App for your shopping requirements, but you could also have a shopping assistant login and make some extra money part time. Is iCart a store? Do you stock and sell the products on your App?


No. We are not a store and we do not stock the products on our App. We only provide a platform that allows you to connect with available shopping assistants in your locality so they can fulfil your shopping task and deliver to your doorstep. The items on the app are generic products that can be sold by any retailer.




Is the App secure?


Yes it is. Your details and payment method is stored securely and you are advised not to divulge your account details or password to anyone. (See privacy policy). Also when you place a job order, a unique PIN is generated along with your order ID number. The shopping assistant does not know the PIN will ask you for it; it is only then a delivery can be confirmed.




Is there a minimum spend?


No, there is not. You can spend as much or as little as you want without the ‘Minimum spend’ restriction




What is the dark mode on my profile setting?


The app comes in both light and dark mode for user preferences. The default setting is light mode but you can change it to suit your individual preference




Where can I find a list of my previous/current order(s)?


Use the drop down menu and select ‘My Orders’ option. A list of your order(s) is available there.




How do I check the status of an order?


Use the drop down menu and select ‘My Orders’ option. A list of your orders is available there and the status is available on the screen beneath the orders. However, for more detailed information about an order just tap the order on the screen.




What do I do with the PIN number associated with my order?


The unique PIN number generated when you place an order is a security feature to ensure your shopping is delivered to you. The shopping assistant will request for the PIN number upon arrival and only when you provide it can they confirm delivery.




What is the difference between Order ID and PIN number?


When you place an order, an order ID is generated and having it to hand enables customer service to assist with any query should the need arise. PIN number however is your property and you should only disclose it to the shopping assistant on arrival so they can confirm delivery is for you.




Covid-19 guidance - what measures are in place for my safety?


We encourage everyone including those using the app for shopping as a service to adhere to government regulations and guidelines aimed at keeping our community safe. The shopping assistants rendering the service are aware of the regulations and will ensure they are wearing a mask and keep 2 meters or more away during delivery. (See Covid-19 Guidance)

Yes, you can. The option is available after you confirm your delivery
